It’s been awhile since the last update! After we left Moab, we headed east into Colorado to hit Breckenridge. We didn’t have anything specific in mind for before and after stops, so our stay in Colorado ended up being fairly lightweight and focused mainly on — take a guess — snow sports.

In February we left California to finally do some ~real~ traveling. Our main points of interest were Park City, Vail, and Breckenridge for snowboarding (the latter two in Colorado), with Zion and Moab as stops on the way - and wherever else we had to go to make that work.

In some ways, living in a house on wheels isn't wildly different than living in a traditional home. It's four walls and a door, after all. Sure, it's small, but plenty of people live in tiny studio apartments.

But there are a handful of things that we take for granted when living in a sticks-and-bricks house that you suddenly have to be conscious of in an RV.

The start of our full-time journey took place all along California. We were already in SoCal to celebrate Christmas with my family, so we came up with a travel plan that made a pretty cohesive trek around the state before heading east. But before going up north to snowboard in California, we wanted to enjoy some (relative) downtime and familiarity after many weeks of physical labor.

Before even picking up the trailer, we knew we wanted to put in some work into renovations. Not surprising, considering RVs aren't exactly marketed to people in their thirties or younger, and as a result they look like homes built in the late 90s. But these renovations were a total bitch.

We’d dreamed about quitting our day jobs and starting our own business before... building an indie game, maybe starting a games marketing and PR consulting company. We knew that if we ever took that leap, we’d be bootstrapping it with our own money, and not necessarily seeking outside funding.
