In February we left California to finally do some ~real~ traveling. Our main points of interest were Park City, Vail, and Breckenridge for snowboarding (the latter two in Colorado), with Zion and Moab as stops on the way - and wherever else we had to go to make that work.

After leaving Orange County in early January, Free Real Estate headed north to go snowboarding and visit friends and family in Northern California. We basically had a month and some days to fill our travels before we wanted to be back in SoCal for (more) family events.

The start of our full-time journey took place all along California. We were already in SoCal to celebrate Christmas with my family, so we came up with a travel plan that made a pretty cohesive trek around the state before heading east. But before going up north to snowboard in California, we wanted to enjoy some (relative) downtime and familiarity after many weeks of physical labor.

We’d dreamed about quitting our day jobs and starting our own business before... building an indie game, maybe starting a games marketing and PR consulting company. We knew that if we ever took that leap, we’d be bootstrapping it with our own money, and not necessarily seeking outside funding.
